SuperSU v2.18 for Nexus 9
-------------------------

Requirements:
- Nexus 9, connect to a...
- Computer
- Knowledge of the command prompt
- Working adb
- Working fastboot

Step 1: Enable OEM unlocking
----------------------------

You need to enable OEM unlocking from developer options in the device's settings.
After Android is fully booted up, go to 'Settings -> About tablet'. Tap
'Build number' 7 times to 'become a developer'. Press the back button and go to
the 'Developer options' entry that has now appeared. Make sure the
'Enable OEM unlock' and 'USB debugging' settings are enabled. There will be a
popup asking you to allow the connected computer access, do so.

Step 2: Reboot into the bootloader
----------------------------------

Executing the 'adb reboot bootloader' command from the computer will do this for
you. Alternatively, power off the device, then hold the volume down and power
buttons for about 10 seconds.

At the very top there will be a purple line, followed by green lines. Below that
is a line that says either 'FASTBOOT USB' or 'HBOOT'. In case it says 'HBOOT',
use the volume buttons until the 'FASTBOOT' option is selected and press the
power button to go into fastboot mode.

Step 3: OEM unlock
------------------

Note: this will erase all your data and void your warranty.

Executing the 'fastboot oem unlock' command from the computer will do this for
you. If your device has not yet been oem unlocked, a screen will popup asking you
to confirm that you want to unlock. Once you've used the volume up button to
confirm, it will erase all your data, then return you to the bootloader menu.

Step 4: Inject SuperSU
----------------------

Boot the provided inject.img file with the 'fastboot boot inject.img' command
from the folder you extracted this package in to install SuperSU into the system
partition, then boot back into the bootloader menu.

Step 5: Install patched kernel
------------------------------

For SuperSU to actually work, we need a slightly patched kernel (ramdisk). Install
it by executing the 'fastboot flash boot patched.img' command.

Step 6: Reboot
--------------

Either hold the power button for 10 seconds, select the reboot option from the
bootloader menu, or execute the 'fastboot reboot' command to reboot into Android.
Your device is now rooted, though most root apps will probably not work yet
because they are not ready yet for Android 5.0 or 64-bit, or both.
